Beantown.NET User Group Tomorrow (May 7th)

I’m very excited to announce that tomorrow, Thursday, May 7th, I’m scheduled to present to the Beantown.NET User Group, at the Microsoft NERD (New England Research & Development) Center, in Cambridge. As an added bonus, I’ve convinced Miguel to come help out (or make fun of me…)

While the title of the talk currently appears on the site as just “Mono”, the actual title is “What has Mono done for .NET developers lately?”  Accordingly, the focus is on the latest developments in Mono as they relate to developers that are comfortable developing with Visual Studio.

Thanks to latest efforts of the amazing Mono, Moonlight, and MonoDevelop teams, we have several fresh demonstrations lined up that will be relevant to .NET developers of all types.  We’ll be showing how to publish ASP.NET applications to Linux from directly within the IDE, demo debugging a Windows.Forms application on Mono from within Visual Studio, and how to build a .NET appliance without even trying.

We also have some fresh awesomeness from the Moonlight 2.0 preview, as well as a little MonoDevelop on Mac OS X, and will be bringing along as many of the Mono developers from the Cambridge office as I can convince to tag along.

When:

Thursday, May 7, 2009,
6:00 – 8:00pm

Where:

Microsoft NERD
1 Memorial Drive
Cambridge, MA
